Newbank Garden Centre is a family run business who strive to give customers an inspiring experience whilst offering amazing value on a range of garden, gift & homeware products.

Brief Red Pencil Productions Preston

We were brought in by JGM Marketing Agency to help bring their idea to life for the newest 30-second Newbank TV Advert. We begin on a beautiful summer’s day as we cut between a mum, dad, brother and sister, as they enjoy life in their garden. It is only when awe hear the loud echo of a tanoy system when we realise the family have decided to make themselves at home at Newbank Garden Centre.

The concept behind this idea was to sell the atmosphere of Newbank, that customers should feel at home and have a relaxed shopping experience. It also allowed us to showcse some of Newbank’s preferred products as they prepare for a busy summer ahead.

Our role was to bring JGM‘s vision from a written treatment to a live action TV commercial. We worked closely with the agency to provide advice and ideas on how this idea could be executed for a 30-second television commercial before moving into the pre-production.

The shooting date kept to a tight schedule and required us to build a custom build garden within a space provided by Newbank. The idea behind this was to create a set that actors and crew could move around easily, whilst also building a garden that would fool the audience for the majoirty of the commercial.

For post-production, we brought in Alex from 344 Audio for  high quality sound design that accompanied the edit perfectly. We also to worked with clearcast to ensure that the commercial was cleared to be broadcasted.

Since it’s release the Newbank commercial has recieved fantastic reviews and engagement with Newbank’s target audience. The advert was broadcasted during prime time television, reaching an average of 9 million views.

Following the first airing date, a longer version of the commercial was released on Newbank’s social media pages, recieving over 7 thousand organic views within it’s first week!

We recieved amazing feedback from JGM and Newbank and look forward to hearing more achievements as the commercial continues to air.
